Scheduling your appointment

Health History
Before the commencement of your first session you will be asked to complete a Client Intake Form. To ensure an effective session every time, please keep your therapist apprised of any changes in your health.

Confirmations
Appointments should be confirmed the day before the scheduled massage via the link in the reminder email.

Cancellation/Late Policy:

Since massage works best when received on a regular basis, we encourage you to prioritize your appointment. If you need to cancel, we ask that you take other clients and your therapists' time into consideration. Bearing that in mind, we have adopted the following policies:

• 24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This gives us the opportunity to fill that slot.

• If you cancel the same day as your appointment (the same day begins at 12:01 am) you will be charged a $10 cancellation fee. No exceptions. This fee will be added onto the cost of your next appointment. If you fail to reschedule, you will be billed for the entire missed appointment.

No-shows
If you do fail to show for your scheduled appointment without canceling you will be considered a NO-SHOW. You will be charged the full fee for your missed appointment which will be added to the cost of your next appointment. If you fail to reschedule, you will be billed for the full appointment fee. If you have a prepaid massage, gift certificate or voucher and are a no-show, you will lose that prepaid massage, gift certificate or voucher. No exceptions.

Tardiness
Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. We ask that you call 412-378-0652 if you are running late.

If you are under 20 minutes late, your session will proceed in the time remaining. Please note, however, that you will be charged for the full session. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment will be rescheduled and you will be charged the cancellation fee of $10.

If your therapist is not in the office at the time of your appointment and is more than fifteen minutes late, you will be given a voucher for a free 15-minute massage extension. This does not apply if we are in the office, but running behind schedule.

Payment
Payment is due upon receipt of service. Cash, local checks, Master Card, Visa, Discover, gift certificates, prepaid certificates and vouchers are acceptable forms of payment. Please make checks payable to Words & Bodyworks Massage Therapy.

If paying with a gift certificate, prepaid certificate or voucher, please have the printed copy ready to give your therapist before your appointment begins. You must have the PRINTED version of your gift certificate or voucher to redeem.

Sexual Misconduct
Sexual misconduct and solicitation are strictly forbidden. Any illicit or sexually aggressive remarks, advances or gestures will result in the immediate termination of the session and you will be liable for full payment of the scheduled appointment. Please note that legal actions may also be taken.

Physician Referral
A physician's note is required to receive a massage in some cases. If you are pregnant or have a contraindication for massage like cancer, please speak with your doctor and obtain a note giving their consent. If you come to your appointment without the note or a contraindication is discovered at intake, your appointment may need to be postponed until a note is obtained. This is for your safety and our protection.

NOTE: Massage Therapy is not a substitute for medical examinations and/or diagnosis. It is recommended that you see a physician for any physical ailment you have.

Residential In-Home Visit

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates must be presented before the appointment commences. They cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Gift certificates expire one year from the date of purchase and will not be accepted after the expiration date.

If you fail to show up to your appointment and do not call to cancel you will forfeit your gift certificate.

Prepaid Certificates/Series/Vouchers
Prepaid certificates and vouchers must be presented in PRINTED form before the appointment commences (a valid receipt may be acceptable in lieu of the actual certificate). Prepaid massages expire six months from the date of purchase and will not be accepted after the expiration date.

If you purchased a prepaid series, we have a record of this purchase our computer system and you are not required to have a certificate.

If you fail to show up to your appointment and do not call to cancel, you will forfeit your certificate, voucher or one massage will be deducted from your series.
