Pricing Philosophy: We endeavor to provide high-quality and effective massage services at affordable prices. With our recent expansion, new licensing requirements and increased cost of products, however, it was necessary for us to increase the price on a few of our services. To offset this slight increase, we are now offering you more massage for your money on those services.
To receive our best deal, join the Frequent Massage Program to pay $35 for a biweekly one hour therapeutic massage. LEARN MORE.
Please read the following before scheduling an appointment:
1. We use organic lotion and oil. If you have a preference or allergies to fragrance, please let us know when you schedule.
2. We use appropriate draping. Your private areas will be covered at all times.
3. We are available by appointment, please call 412-486-1829 if you have to reschedule or are running late. Cancellation fees may apply. View our Cancellation Policy.
4. Please note that you will be admitted to your massage at your scheduled time. An early arrival does not guarantee early admittance.
5. Availability for couples massage may vary. Due to our space restrictions in our temporary office, please call 412-486-1829 to schedule a Couples Massage.
6. To expedite your first appointment, download, print and fill out our intake form before you arrive.

Swedish Massage calms the body like meditation calms the mind. You'll experience light pressure and soothing strokes that lull your senses into a deep state of relaxation. Other benefits include lowered blood pressure, increased circulation, and the removal of toxins.
Prenatal Massage is specifically designed for expectant mothers wishing for a healthier, more active pregnancy. We use primarily Swedish techniques, but can incorporate Deep-tissue if safe and warranted. Special bolstering and minimal flipping help make your experience more comfortable as time progresses.
*Doctor approval required. Please bring written permission from your doctor or midwife to your first prenatal appointment. Your massage will not proceed until we have this documentation. You will also be asked to supply us with doctor contact information for verification purposes and in the unlikely case of an emergency. We strictly enforce this policy because we wish to ensure the well-being of both you and your unborn baby.

If this massage were a novel it would be a bestseller. This is our most popular service and our specialty. Deep-tissue goes deeper into the muscle to break down knots and release muscle tension to improve function, flexibility and range of motion.
Deep-tissue massage can also help reduce muscle spasms, tension and stress. Receiving it on a regular basis can ease pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome, migraines, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, Fibromyalgia, repetitive stress injuries, soft tissue injuries and much more.
We pair Trigger Point with our Deep-tissue to diffuse and eliminate active trigger points (taut bands of muscles) which may be referring pain other places by pressing on nerves.
You can choose to combine Swedish and Deep-tissue techniques to help you relax while we work to achieve your therapeutic goals. The combo price is the same as a regular Deep-tissue.

The 30 minute Foot Intensive
30 min/$30
The foot intensive can be added-on or scheduled as a stand-alone service. We soothe your aching feet with a special cream while massaging key areas of the foot and calf. We also use passive stretching to loosen muscles and relieve pain. This treatment is highly recommended for clients who suffer from plantar fasciitis, heel pain, tendonitis, and/or general foot pain.

Guided Relaxation: We use a series of guided breathing and imagery techniques inspired by meditation to lull you into a state of complete serenity. It's the ideal beginning to any massage and is ideal for people who struggle to quiet their minds during a massage.
Spot-Specific Reiki: (available with Rebekah and Lily) Use the healing power of Reiki to unblock chi (energy) and activate your body's natural healing abilities. This 10-minute session focuses on specific areas and/or chakras.
Foot Focus: This shorter version of the foot intensive is the perfect add-on to help heal plantar fasciitis and/or other foot/heel pain.
Scalp and Sinus Intensive: This service is highly recommended to those suffering from headaches, migraines and sinus issues. We focus on the pressure points in the sinuses and scalp to help ease away pain and reduce congestion and stuffiness. Eucalyptus aromatherapy can also be included in this service at no extra charge.

Specialty Massages:
Farewell to Stress Combo

Bid adieu to tension as we ease you into the massage experience with 10 minutes of Guided Relaxation. Our Stress Less blend of aromatherapy oil infuses the air as we gently apply pressure to the scalp and face to melt away tension and induce relaxation. Finally we use a highly effective combination of Swedish, Deep-tissue and trigger point to remove knots, trigger points and toxins in order to restore your body's natural balance and well-being.

Hot Stone Massage (with or without Deep-tissue)

Our heated basalt stones placed on key spots on your body will melt away tension as you sink deep into the table. We incorporate the stones into your massage for a truly unique experience.
Using the hot stones to relax your muscles makes receiving Deep-tissue massage a more effective and enjoyable experience. The moist heat of the stones gently releases contracted muscles and stimulates circulation.
Please note that Hot Stone massage is not available as a couples' service. Hot stone massages can be scheduled at the same in different rooms depending on therapist availability.

Relax and rejuvenate side by side in our Zen room. This specialty service is perfect for date night or a girls' day out. Each participant chooses one therapeutic massage service and one add-on service for one inclusive price. Add an aromatherapy blend to enhance the experience at no extra charge.
Couples need not be traditional. Any two people are welcome to schedule a Couples Massage.

Cancellation Policy
Massage works best when received on a regular basis, therefore we encourage you to prioritize your appointment. If you need to cancel, please take other clients and your therapist's time into consideration. To that end, we have adopted the following policies;
24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This gives us the opportunity to fill that slot.
If you cancel the same day as your appointment (the same day begins at 12:01 am) you will be charged a $10 cancellation fee. This fee will be added onto the cost of your next appointment. If you fail to reschedule, you will be billed for the entire missed appointment.
No-Shows
If you do not call to cancel and fail to show for your scheduled appointment you will be considered a NO-SHOW. You will be charged the full fee for your missed appointment which will be added to the cost of your next appointment. If you do not reschedule, we will bill you for the full fee. If you have a prepaid massage, gift certificate or voucher and are a no-show, you will lose that prepaid massage, gift certificate or voucher.
Tardiness
Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. We ask that you call 412-802-5560 if you are running late.
If you are under 20 minutes late, your session will proceed in the time remaining. Please note, however, that you will be charged for the full session. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment will be rescheduled and you will be charged the cancellation fee of $10.
Payment
Payment is due upon receipt of service. Specialty massages require a $10 down payment on a credit card. Cash, local checks, Master Card, Visa, Discover, gift certificates, prepaid certificates and vouchers are acceptable forms of payment. Please make checks payable to Words & Bodyworks Massage Therapy.
If paying with a gift certificate, prepaid certificate or voucher, please have the printed copy ready to give your therapist before your appointment begins. You must have the PRINTED version of your gift certificate or voucher to redeem (or a valid receipt). If you do not, you will be charged the full service price of the massage or you will need to reschedule.
