Q: I've never had a massage before. What can I expect?
Your massage will vary depending on the type and the massage therapist. Regardless, you will be greeted warmly and asked to fill out paperwork and answer intake questions. You will receive a piece of chocolate at every appointment. You will be offered a glass of water or tea. You will climb onto a warm table under clean sheets. Your therapist will explain the process and listen to your needs and goals.

Q: When shouldn't I receive a massage?
There are a variety of ailments for which massage is indicated and many where it is not. For example, if you suffer from migraines, massage is a great way to lessen the frequency and severity of your attacks. However, if you have a cold or another acute illness you should not receive a massage. For a list of massage contraindications, click here.

Q: Do I have to be naked to receive a massage?
Not at all. We leave it up to you. And depending on the type of massage, you may not have to get undressed at all. For example, if you are getting a chair massage, you can leave your clothes on. For a table massage, you can usually leave on your underwear. Regardless, we always use proper draping so your private areas are covered at all times. Your privacy is important to us. If you have any concerns, feel free to call 412-378-0652.

Q. I don't like my feet/head/hands/scalp massaged, is this an issue?
Nope. During the intake we have you answer a questionnaire regarding your massage preferences. This is when you let us know what you would like to have worked on and what you'd like to skip. Many people have sensitive feet, hands, scalp, etc. It's your massage, we want you to be comfortable.

Q. Do I have to talk during the massage?
Again, this is up to you. We try to encourage silence so that you can relax. However, many clients find that talking to be relaxing, so we adjust based on your preferences and goals. But don't feel like you HAVE to talk. Don't worry, you won't hurt our feelings.

Q: Are you licensed?
Licensing of massage is new in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are in the process of being grandfathered into the system. Please note that all of our massage therapists have been professionally trained, certified and are insured by the American Massage Therapy Association.

Q: Do you offer sensual or erotic services?
No. We offer therapeutic massage services only. If you are looking for your massage to end like a fairytale, as in a "Happy Ending", then I'm afraid we cannot help you. Any improper or sexual solicitation of a massage therapist will end in your immediate expulsion from the premises without refund and possibly criminal charges.

Q: How often should I get a massage?
We truly believe that massage is a lifestyle, so we encourage you to come as often as you can. If you can schedule an appointment at least once every three weeks, you'll start noticing a difference in how you feel. Wait longer than three weeks and it can be like starting over every time. But that's why we keep our prices affordable, so you can schedule more often. If you skip a week's worth of Starbucks or two meals at a mid-priced restaurant a month, you'll have your massage money. Aren't you worth it?

Q: Isn't getting a massage every three weeks self-indulgent?
No way! Our mission is to help you overcome this mentality. Massage, like exercise, is something you do to maintain your health and well-being. Do you consider exercise or eating healthy self-indulgent? I certainly hope not! And like exercise and eating healthy, massage works best when done consistently. Think of it this way, you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. Plus, the money you spend on massage is an investment in your future. Do we wish that we could accept insurance for massage? You bet! But until that happens, we promise to work with you as much as possible to keep our services budget-friendly.
